چکیده

Two field experiments in split-plot design were carried out the winter season of 2014-2015 at Mansoura University Farm, Egypt, to investigate effect biochar, compost, and chicken manure with different rates mineral fertilization on soil pH, EC, organic matter content. Treatments manure, while studied fertilizer treatments (NPK) took 50,75,100, 125 %. The obtained results can be summarized in; addition led an increase pH wheat (Sakha 68) by 8.73 %, decreased 8.30 8.19% compared 0.0 addition, where same amendment order increased barley (Gemmiza 123) 8.65, reduce 8.18% compost manure. Biochar, values EC 2 , 2.43, 2.10 dS m-1 2.80, 2.23, 2.14 barley, respectively. Organic improved highest result was found 2.798 2.767 % soil. Mineral both as well up level used. A significant type - dose interaction most tested treatments. paste interactions between biochar other best mean value recoded 100 NPK treatment (2.76 m-1) soil, a similar trend also achieved (3.29 m-1). Chicken -125 recommended gave heights content, Respectively.

Investigating the Effect of Soil Organic Matter on Gypsum Block Calibration for Measuring Soil Volumetric Moisture Content

Continuous soil moisture assessment and evaluation is essential for irrigation management and planning. One of the common methods for measuring the moisture content of the soil is the use of a gypsum block. The use of gypsum blocks in some cases, including the presence of organic matter in soil, may cause an error in the measurement of moisture. For this purpose, a laboratory study was conducte...

Effect of soil organic matter content and pH on the toxicity of ZnO nanoparticles to Folsomia candida.

Organic matter (OM) and pH may influence nanoparticle fate and effects in soil. This study investigated the influence of soil organic matter content and pH on the toxicity of ZnO-NP and ZnCl2 to Folsomia candida in four natural soils, having between 2.37% and 14.7% OM and [Formula: see text] levels between 5.0 and 6.8. Porewater Zn concentrations were much lower in ZnO-NP than in ZnCl2 spiked s...

EFFECT OF SOIL pH AND ORGANIC MATTER ON LABILE ALUMJNIUM IN SOILS UNDER PERMANENT GRASS

The rates of extraetíon of Na, K, Mg, Ca, and Al with 1 M NH. NO. from the mineraIand organic-rieh layers of sorne Park Grass (Rothamsted) soils were measured at the pH of the soil. Below pH 3.7 exehangeable Al, deríved from the kineties curve, inereases with decreasing soil pH and is less in the organic-rich Iayer. The sum of the basic exchangeable eations, I;(Na + K + Mg + Ca), increases with...

Sorption of organic chemicals to soil organic matter: influence of soil variability and pH dependence.

For modeling the sorption of organic compounds in soils it is typically assumed that the organic carbon/water partitioning coefficient (Koc) of neutral organic chemicals can be treated as a constant property that remains unaffected by the type of soil organic matter as well as pH in the soil solution. Here the validity of these assumptions is evaluated with a large and diverse experimental data...
